Quote challenge from Scrapbooking Savvy

After being away for a week I finished off a layout that I had started before I left. As I was looking for ideas I saw this quote challenge as part of Scrapbooking Savvy Cyber crop and it went well with the photo I had picked out. The quote is;

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

And my layout is:

Of course I used A2Z Scraplets, the vine border and butterflies which comes in a set (great value for money) and the white/blue flower is from halo, the bottom blue flower if from D'lish, the top one is prima along with the green vine

For the background I placed the template on the card and with ink, covered all the butteries. When dried I went over with white paint. Using the same template I again put in on the card, slightly off then the first time and used texture paste and glimmer mist. The template I used is from Crafters workshop

If you want to enter the cyber crop at Scrapbooking Savvy head HERE

Also a new month starts tomorrow so a new challenge will be up at A2Z. If you are into colour ones then keep your eyes on the blog tomorrow!!!

Scrapbooking Savvy Crop Challenge

Hello scrappers on this ANZAC day. Scrapbooking Savvy are having a HUGE Cyber Crop with 5, thats right 5 challenges. The awesome news is that you have 2 weeks to upload the layouts to the gallery under the challenges!!!

Karen (DT member) challenge is to use the word Dream OR Dreams OR Dreaming. Now I am at my parents house so I raided my mothers stash and made her a layout based on one of the challenges.

I have used 2 stencils in the background, one with just mist, the other with texture paste and mist

The scraplets is, of course, A2Z

Head to the  Scrapbook Savvy Facebook Event HERE for all the challenges plus where to post the finished layouts.

Now on a slightly different note: The reason I have not blogged for a while is that we had a death in the family, my Dad's brother. While I did not know him well my thoughts and prays go out to his wife, children and my Dad. The main reason for scrapbooking is to remember the stories, feelings, dates and places. That is why my layouts focus on the photo and feelings. Its not about the trends, what style you do or technique, they just help to add to the whole story and make it fun. And to help the memories last.

A2Z Quote Challenge

Its the middle of the month and only 1 entry into the A2Z Scraplets Quote Challenge. I am really hoping to see the amount of entries we have had in the past few months. So today I am going to re show you my take on the challenge AND I am also going to show you a layout that another DT from A2Z did. I reaaaaalllllllly hope that this inspires you to do the challenge. And the rules are sooo simple AND you don't even need to use any A2Z scraplets to enter!!!!

The quote is : YOU BRIGHTEN UP MY DAY

First I will show you the wonderful layout that Monica Burns did:

Isn't just STUNNING. The stencil you see is from the new stencil range from A2Z.

And now a re look at the one I did:

Again the stencil is from A2Z

I really hope this gets you in the mood to do this challenge. It finishes up at the end of the month, as I said before you DON'T need to use scraplets but i you have them would love to see how you use them and the quote must be seen somewhere on the layout. If it is small or hidden we still need a photo of it so we can see that you have used it. Besides that it is up to you.

Head HERE for the A2Z blog with all the details and the linky. If you don't have a blog you can email the layout to A2Z and they will post it for you.

Ears Pierced layout

Its been a while since my last post but I have been away on holidays with  my family. We spent a week in Kalbarri, 6hrs north of Perth, W.A. It was AWESOME!!! Stunning weather and was so relaxing. But we are home and back into things.

This layout is from my last ever Scrap Everything DT Pack. My time is up but I had a awesome time with Scrap Everything and will sooooo still be shopping there and entering every months challenges.

Here is the layout:

This is about the day Iona got her ears pierced. The 2nd photo is not the best but all that I had from that day. The paper I used is from the Echo Park OH SNAP range. With the background I used a plainer paper from the range and with a Kaisercraft Template, Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry) and a green Prima ink I dabbed over some of the template with a make up sponge.

I was sent some beautiful white Prima flowers but the colour did not go.So with some Glimmer mist it become yellow. I also used Kasiercraft strip rhinestones to make the curl. I then added 'The story' sticker, pointing it to the ear.

And that's mine layout. Simple but still told the story. All the products are from Scrap Everything. Head HERE to the store and check out the sale!!!!

Also here is this months sketch challenge. It can be a card or layout and post it on their Facebook page. A fab prize is up for grabs

Also don't forget the A2Z Quote challenge:' You brighten up my day' needs to be somewhere on the layout. head HERE for all the details. A fab scraplets pack is up or grabs :)
